Jim Gaines was a special part of the Every Body Deserves Love journey. From the moment we met, his belief in the power of a non-judging community resonated deeply with our mission. He shared stories with me at the Navy Golf Course as I served him drinks. He told me the challenges he faced with self-acceptance and self-love. He became a pillar of support for EBDL, offering his wisdom, encouragement, and, most importantly, his unwavering faith in the work we were doing to uplift others. He supported EBDL and myself in my earliest days. Jim had a unique way of seeing the potential in people, and his thoughts on self-empowerment inspired me to reach even higher. He was especially passionate about the need for more mental health and self-love education for Black people, feeling deeply that this was a cause worth championing. Jim was inspired to be a voice for this effort, and his dedication helped shape the direction of our work. We are so happy to share videos and photos from our nonprofit launch.

His kindness and support played a vital role in our story, and we will always be grateful for the contributions he made to our cause. As we reflect on his legacy, we hope that his family and friends feel connected to the work Jim cared so much about. We welcome you all! He believed in a world where everyone deserves love, and we carry that belief with us every day. We invite anyone who shares Jim’s passion for creating a better, more loving world to join us in honoring him by continuing the work he championed.

Thank you, Jim, for everything you gave us. You will always be a part of the Every Body Deserves Love family. We will miss you!
